Container Build Genset Is Ready To Roll. Check Out The Long List Of Features And Give Us A Call!
Our generator technician guru Greg is at it again! This time he added a new 1 MW Caterpillar SR5/C32 genset to a 45-foot custom container and put it all on wheels!
These container builds are becoming immensely popular as clients are asking for higher capacity portable power.
Smaller portable generators in the 100 kW to 600 kW range are always popular. However, extreme weather events and human-made disasters are increasing.
Broken dams cause floods, and arsonists in the West start huge fires. These events can destroy entire towns. Because of this, the need for portable power is growing.
“This portable CAT 1 MW container build features all the bells and whistles to supply power under the more stringent regulations,” said Tim Lathan, Generator Source general manager.
“The container features external and internal lighting so its well-lit for any monitoring or maintenance,” added Lathan.
“Inside you’ll also find a Cummins EnerGenius battery charger, 1600-amp Schneider adjustable circuit breaker, CAT EMCP4.2B control panel as well as an annunciator controller.
“Adding to the build’s features is the fact that it is set up for Tier 4 operation with all the components to meet strict emission regulations including a Siemens SCR Catalyst controller,” said Lathan. “The 45-foot trailer is also equipped with external drain plugs making fluid changes easy and if you need to see any part of this unit, there are a total of eight access points.
“Throw in exterior plugs/cam locks, shore power and access to plugs is quick and easy,” said Lathan. “Greg thought of everything here, just like all his container builds.”
To finish the long list of features, the build includes an exterior shutdown button. It has a UL Listed 1,452-gallon fuel tank. The unit is on a chassis trailer, making it fully mobile.
“This beautiful build is ready to roll to wherever a client needs power,” said Lathan. “The container build really highlights our abilities and what our technicians can do for clients.”
